Medical Care
There are many different health care treatment programs that are available to the inmates while they are incarcerated. At the facility there are always professionals there to help with the health care of the inmates. This also includes professionals to help with alcohol and drug abuse, mental illness, and the distribution of medication. The following are what is available to the inmates at Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

Medical Care: This includes 4 full time physicians, 3 physician assistants, 1 nurse practitioner, 18 registered nurses, 2 pharmacists, and 2 pharmacist aides.
Clinic Call-Outs: If an inmate needs more attention that what is given to them at sick call then they can be referred to the PA’s or the NP to be examined. On average 300 patients are seen each month.
Chronic Care: This is for inmates with chronic medical problems. For example inmates with medical problems like asthma, hypertension, diabetes, HIV, Hepatitis C. The inmates get divided among the doctors alphabetically and then assigned to a consistent provider.
Pharmacy and Medications: There are 2 pharmacists and 2 pharmacist aides on duty.
Dental Care: There are four dentists on staff at the facility. Routine dental appointments take 2 to 3 weeks to occur.
Mental Health Care: Office of Mental Health or OMH requires mental health personnel to be present in the prison at all times.
Intermediate Care Program (ICP): ICP is a residential treatment program for inmates with mental illnesses. This provides in depth treatment for inmates with many different disorders.
Transitional Intermediate Care Program (TRICP): TRICP is a less interactive treatment then those in ICP. This is also for inmates with a mental illness.
